Sea Point gets a new sugary spot

Discover this pretty pastel patisserie

If you are in Cape Town and you have a sweet tooth, you will not want to miss this darling desert den. Nestled between Nonna Lina and Jerry’s Burger Bar on the Main Road in Sea Point, you will find the decadence that is The Dairy Den. Specialising in doughnuts and soft serve ice cream, this little shop has something sweet for everyone.

The owners are Greek sisters, Tasia Donaldson and Lexi Van Kets, who grew up in a family of ice cream makers dating back to 1948. You can definitely say that they were born with a sweet tooth. The shop itself looks like a it is straight out of a Disney film with pink and white walls and decorated to perfection.

You will find all types of treats for young and old with a menu that includes the ‘oldie but goodies’ – Flake 99, cookies and cream doughnuts and the original Belgian chocolate-dipped serve.

You can also expect more modern and complex offerings like the ‘Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi inspired soft serve called The Mint Dragon, which is a traditional vanilla soft serve that is dipped in emerald green peppermint and served in a black Oreo cone.

At the doughnut counter you will find a variety of doughnuts that range from classic powdered sugar to a more indulgent strawberry cheesecake-filled flavour.

The Dairy Den is open daily from 8am – 10pm to indulge early morning and late night sugar cravings.
