A guide to finding the best shopping malls, bars, restaurants, and beaches in Sea Point

Spending a day in an area can be a bit daunting if you are unfamiliar with the surroundings. Finding the right places to eat, the best activities to get involved in and, of course, the best coffee spots  can be an overwhelming task. So, we’ve decided to give you a few of our favourite things to do see and do, as well as provide you with a few of our favourite restaurants to try.

Strolla

Stroll into this sunny seaside eatery and enjoy a fabulous selection of dishes. Strolla is the perfect restaurant at which to enjoy a leisurely meal with family and friends. Sit with a glass of crisp white wine while the stunning sun sets over the Atlantic Ocean.

Fuego

This Latin American taqueria offers patrons a range of contemporary dishes all served in a taco. Expect the spiciest flavours combined into one of their fine hand-crafted tacos or other dish. You will be treated to fresh ingredients which are bought daily, making every dish exquisite. Venture here for a late afternoon or evening bite.

Mojo Market

One of the latest additions to Regent Road, Mojo Market caters a wide range of cuisines, restaurants and delicacies which you can enjoy at your will. Mojo Market has quickly become known for hosting some of the bigger names in the Cape Town foodie circles. It is home to 80 stalls, which include 45 designer retail stalls, 20 food vendors, 2 bars, a daily fresh food market, a live entertainment stage and a wellness zone. You’ll probably need a couple of hours to experience the market to its fullest.

Gonow electric bike

Gonow is one of the most exhilarating ways to explore Sea Point. Hire one of the Gonow eBikes (electric bicycle) at an hourly rate and explore more of the southern seaboard. You can choose to cycle on eco mode or power mode, depending on how excited you are for exercise and how much power you want the bike to produce. If you ride along the promenade you will be able to capture some phenomenal pictures (Instagram worthy), explore the area and, of course, enjoy a unique adventure with a group of friends or that special someone.

Knead

Eggs Benedict, croissant with scrambled eggs, cappuccinos - everything you Knead to start the day off right. Knead is nestled in The Point shopping centre on the ground floor. The busy cafe is perfect for a brunch with friends, a casual lunch time get-together with family or for a quick coffee and pastry break. Pop into one of our favourite spots in Sea Point for a delectable dining experience.

Jarryds

If you’re wanting to go to Jarryds for breakfast, you are one of the hundreds of people wanting to do the same thing. The popular espresso bar and eatery is notorious for having a breakfast queue, where you can expect a 15 to 30 minute wait. However, you can also expect a phenomenal breakfast as a fitting reward. Take a pic next to the popular Jarryds sign and make your wait memorable and get a great insta-pic!

Sea Point Pools

One of Capetonians’ favourite spots in which to cool off (besides the ocean) are the Sea Point Pools. The pools are open to the public daily, giving all visitors the chance to have some pool-side splashes while looking at the picturesque sea in front of you! Take the family for a great outing on a Sunday afternoon and be sure to grab a mouth-watering ice-cream from the vendors outside the pool areas.

Sea Point Promenade

Take a stroll along the lengthy Sea Point Promenade. Whether it is a leisurely ramble or an energetic run, the promenade provides a scenic view for every step you take. Walk alongside a group of friends and enjoy the fresh air and the occasional spray from the crashing waves. You can also plonk down on one of the little grassy parks along the promenade and enjoy a quaint picnic - you've got the perfect vantage point for great photos here too!

You can expect a range of stores when you visit The Point, from beauty, decor and lifestyle shops to wellness centres, such as doctor's offices, chiropractors and optometrists. Furthermore, peruse the range of sports clothing and fitness stores, restaurants, coffee shops and delis where you can have a nibble. There are also essentials shops such as Dischem and Checkers where you can do your everyday grocery shopping. There are ample parking spots in a easily accessible underground parking area. This is your go-to shopping mall in Sea Point.
