Why you should buy property on the Atlantic Seaboard
Category General News
Wondering where to invest in property in South Africa? Here's why Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard is our top choice.
A quick drive along Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard takes you from the V&A Waterfront on the north shore of Table Mountain, through Green Point and Sea Point, past Bantry Bay, Clifton and Llandudno and all the way down to Hout Bay. To anyone who has taken this scenic drive it becomes very apparent why those who are in the market to buy property in Cape Town seems to drift towards this strip of coastline, also known as the ‘Riviera’. But for those who have not, we’d like to share our favourite reasons why most anyone would want to live here.
It’s seldom that you find an area where most of the residential properties have (or potentially have) spectacular views. And this is the case all along the Atlantic Seaboard. Houses and apartments normally face the sea and balconies deliver expansive ocean horizon panoramas. This while backdoors open to breathtaking sights of Signal Hill, Table Mountain National Park and the the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range.
Where else can you be surrounded by spectacular views, but be a stone’s throw away from retail stores, quint family run corner shops, pharmacies, gyms and spas? The V&A Waterfront is the most visited attraction in Africa and here punters spend time shopping, eating and relaxing. And once that’s done they spend time sunbathing on the beautiful beaches or strolling on Sea Point’s Promenade where locals jog, walk, cycle and skateboard the 11km route parallel to the ocean.
What can we say about Table Mountain that has not yet been said? Step out for a hike on one of the many walking routes or take the cableway up one of the "New" Seven Wonders of the world.
For those working in Cape Town city centre, living on the Atlantic Seaboard is a perfect combination. It takes ten minutes to reach the city centre and once you leave the office after work you feel like you’re on holiday for the rest of the day. It really is an added bonus that the sun rises at 5:30 and then lazily sets by 20:00, leaving another half an hour of dusk to play in before dark.
Cape Town is one of the top ten destinations on the globe and has also become one of the most sought-after property investment areas with the Atlantic Seaboard recently taking the top spot for investment growth.
